Last month, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is working on an Android authentication feature that would allow users to natively lock the app using their smartphone's fingerprint sensor. Now, a fresh blog report suggests the company plans to add a feature that would block users from taking screenshots when the feature is enabled in the chats.
To put it simply, you will no longer be able to take screenshots of your chats if you have enabled the authentication feature on your smartphone. The same is not true for the receiver, however, which means that they can still save your conversation screenshots.
The good news is that even if users enabled authentication on their smartphones, when the app is locked, they would be able to respond to notifications messages and respond to calls from WhatsApp. However, this feature is still under development and is therefore not available on the Android Beta app from WhatsApp.
The social messaging app also works to improve the user interface of its Doodles feature, apart from the updates to the authentication feature. The updated feature now has two separate sticker tabs, including stickers from third parties, and emojis.
In addition, the stickers are divided into two groups - favorites and categories, and users will be able to use these stickers on images, videos and GIFs with the latest update.
